“ Our friends from Bessemer first introduced me to the Bright Star in 2022. We were excited to bring my son and husband back with us because words fail to convey the fullness of the magic that happens here. This is the oldest dining establishment in Alabama. When a business has been doing things right since 1907, you know youre in for an experience, not just a meal. The food is fabulous, whether hamburger, snapper throats, or filet mignon is chosen. The salad included with dinner is a fresh, generous portion their Greek salad is almost a meal in itself. If you like Coconut Cream Pie, youll find your new alltime favorite slice here. Im sure the other desserts are also wonderful, but I havent had enough of their Coconut Cream, yet, to move on. Be sure to visit with the staff about the luminaries who have frequented the Bright Star. The restaurants private booths and meeting rooms contain a wealth of sports history especially football. Both stories about famous players and their memorabilia abound. Other celebrities, singers and Oscar winners, whove dined here have also left photos and souvenirs. The wait staff must also be highlighted. Service is so exceptional that Ive included a picture of the woman who served our group in both 2022 and 2024. Apparently, there is little staff turn over here because the employees become like a family. ”

“ We stopped in yesterday to eat lunch. Both my middle and my baby boy started their work careers at Bright Star! My baby son was the recent victim of a violent crime and they had been praying for his recovery. One thing that hasnt changed is the food is still heavenly divine along with the ambiance. We had a lovely server named Anna, and Mr. Nikki one of the owners came over to speak to me which is always a blessing! Andreas the other owner and I exchanged a few words where he told me he was grateful Blesset was doing well. I cant say enough about this place! Marlon is a longtime employee who just radiates love and respect for customers and its always clean and has a very homey feeling! One cant go wrong with the menu as they have the best of fish and crab claws plus soul food thats cooked to perfection. It really is the best restaurant this side of heaven! Lunch items are less expensive as the dinner because it is more of a superior type of meal for that time of day. Please take the time and treat yourself and your family and friends ”
